衡星的小宇宙

人生就像一个摩天轮,坐在某个包厢的我们时高时低,就像人生的起落。 当人生遇上了低潮,只要坚持不放弃,等待时机的出现,总会有机会再攀上高峰。

It's so long I never been wake up so early in the morning, the clock showing about 6.30am. I am late to Hui Nin's house...paiseh XD Her dad was fetching us to the Sri Petaling LRT station, so that we can take LRT from there to reach the Pudu Bus Terminal. Two pity fellow being cheated and reached Pudu about 6.30am, I am sincerely sorry for it XD I am just worried that you guys being late and we can't catch the bus at 9.30am.

Pudu bus terminal in the morning
the waiting area is so quiet

Talk about KL bus, I am holding a 9.30am bus ticket but the bus only depart at 10am. KL people not only late in attending wedding dinner, but same goes to here =.= The journey to Penang took about 5-6 hours, but the bus driver was driving very fast and rude, so we reached within 5 hours. This is my first time of taking a bus which went that far and need to stuck in it for long hours...I really can't stand for it! BORED~

1. Cindy posing with all our luggage at Butterworth Bus Terminal
2. Six people luggage for 4 day 3 night trip, does this consider as many?? XD
3. Edward posing with all our luggage infront of the toilet

The first thing we reached the Butterworth Bus Terminal - buy the back bus ticket. After that, we haeding on to the ferry, excited! Though I was not the first time of taking ferry, but that was also during my kid time. From Butterworth to the jetty in Penang island, it took about 15 minutes, and what we do in the ferry?! Of course is camwhoring la!!!

1. The counter at the ferry terminal that provide the service of changing coin
2. The waiting area at ferry terminal
3. Drop in coin or buy a ticket before you can pass through the lanes
4. There's so many seats inside the ferry...I guess few hundreds!
5. Inside ferry also have stall selling foods and drinks!
6. Another ferry pass beside our ferry, and this ferry fetch car not human!

We are posing in the ferry, other passengers are looking at us with a weird sight...i guess we are just too excited in taking photos as ferry is some fresh thing for us....but super ordinary thing for them...haha~

The first feeling of stepping in Penang - STRANGE!!! Honestly, my mind blank for a while...but soon I saw the CAT! Wakaka~ CAT here is not the animal pet cat but it stand for Central Area Transit, is bus which provide free ride that goes around the Georgetown. We all *jumped* into the bus and meet a tour guide which claimed he has been worked for 28 years...don't know it's lucky or not...don't know he is believable or not. He want to help us, told us that the hotel that we are heading to is a ex Thai prostitute place, suggested us to change to Merchant Hotel and even bring us there.

1. CAT or known as free hop on bus, or showing on the board "MPPP CAT Shuttle"
2. Every bus stop also you will found this bus route, some guidance of taking which bus
to certain places of interest is provided
3. The CAT bus, which is the bus that we took mostly in Penang, till I think the driver
can recognise our faces XD
4. Each and every CAT bus stop will be having a signboard showing the bus stop
number, is quite a good help!

Malaysian, when stranger offer help, even it's a kind help, we also will reject. So, after we get knew that Merchant Hotel has no room left, we continued our journey to Waldorf Hotel. When we reached there, checked in and go into the room, the first thing crossed in my mind was =.= I just don't know how to described it...but I knew I won't be able to adapt myself in this room. Not only me, others also felt the same. Thus, the first thing we did is go find another hotel which within our budget...and finally we get Oriental Hotel!

Our first day hotel, Waldorf Hotel, day and night view
Somehow look from outside through the window, it seem like flat~
In this trip, it's has been called for *Old Folk Home* just like the hotel style

The lobby of the hotel which is so quiet and doesn't seem like lobby
The inside room view, maybe looks not too bad but we just can't adapt ourselves here

Next, time to feed my stomach...very hungry!!! Today breakfast and lunch also I had in the bus, keep eating bread, mouth also bored. Now, the first meal in Penang, we have it in the food court just opposite Waldorf - Red Garden Cafe.

Red Garden Cafe, which is a not big not small food court
night view and day view

The Cendol selling here taste quite good~
LHS - cendol topped with ice cream
RHS - the normal cendol which is so big bowl
RM3 per bowl

This fried oyster is a big one and costs us RM30...expensive!
After u pay a high price for it, it didn't pay back a high quality!
The fried oyster probably is the worst that I have eaten before...
though the oyster is very big, but I guess the way he cooking this is not right...
it taste like just fried egg then mix with cooked oyster, two separate ingredient put in 1 plate

When I was searching for Penang food, and I saw this name - Hokkien Mee...
I thought it's the 大炒福建面, a kind of thick mee cooked with black sauce
Who know it's actually prawn mee...LOL~

My belated lunch -- kuey teow with pickled vegetables soup
Erm....the size serving, i mean the amount of the kuey teow is quite small..
but the soup really taste good to me, taufu very smooth~\
RM3 per bowl

The first destination would be Fort Cornwallis the corner of Georgetown. I made a stupid decision, instead of taking bus I suggested we walk to there...and I knew it's actually very far lo!!! The only benefit we get is camwhore and view the building structure  along the way, and we found SEGI Penang...haha~

Along the way we walked, these is the building that we met
Court, City Hall, Town Hall...
All with western building structure and style, effect leaving by British?

taking picture with court, war memorial and the justice memorial

Fort Cornwallis
a place where Francis Light first step into Penang
a memorial of Franics Light face can be seen at the entrance of the fort

this is historical attraction, who don't like history you may not like to visit here
jail, canon, clock tower, weapon store...

many many things exhibited here in separate room include spices, rice and those
building fragment left after world war II

Dinner time~ Chuan Heng went to meet his friends, so left 5 of us to enjoy the seafood dinner. Overall, I think it's taste good ^o^ The time after dinner I thought we have wasted it, gave up to visit the clan jetties, went to Chowrasta market but it doesn't seem like a market, wanna go to Jalan Anson and eat the charcoal fried kuey teow but worried about the transportation problem. Semua tak jadi...arghhh~

Weld Quay (Tree Shade) Seafood Restaurant
located just opposite the jetty
there's a variety of seafood and vegetables here which you can choose your favourite!

We ordered four dishes in total
I don't eat this vegetable and pork rib is not the best that I had before...
salted egg with prawn and seafood yiu char kuey taste not bad...yummy~
onr more thing about the speed of cokking and serving here....super duper fast!
That side we ordered, this side we get the dishes in less than 5 minutes!

We end up in KOMTAR, after walk here and there, sweating a lot, we enjoyed air-cond here! We bought mineral water from Giant before they closed in the last minute...and from then I know Penang don't provide plastic bag!!! So, we hugging 2 bottle go here and there, heavy like hell, went back to our hotel. We spent our night counting all the expenses and debts within us, as well as having a short meeting about tomorrow's schedule.

this picture was taken at the bridge which join few shopping mall

It's about 1am which finally I get a chance to sleep, but this first night doesn't seem well for me. I wrap myself with clothes, long pants, socks and jacket just don't wanna have a skin contact with the bed. First day end~
