衡星的小宇宙

人生就像一个摩天轮,坐在某个包厢的我们时高时低,就像人生的起落。 当人生遇上了低潮,只要坚持不放弃,等待时机的出现,总会有机会再攀上高峰。

Today most probably is food hunting day, as we keep eating from morning till noon. We had our first breakfast in the lane beside Lebuh Clarke - Kuey Teow Th'ng. An aunty feel so curious that how could we found this place, she claimed that she has been eating this food since she was kid till now 40+ years old. Haha~ after heard what she say, I feeling so amazing that even this kind of old old hawker stall also found by me XD

the soup is fragant with the lard
this kuey teow th'ng is famous with its meatball made of pig leg tendon
other meatball or fishball is very ordinary ingredient which you can get from the market
RM3 per bowl

After that, we went to another coffee shop to had the prawn paste Chee Cheong Fun. I am actually don't eat prawn paste because I just can't get used to the taste. However, this prawn paste seem like the sweet sauce that we normally had with Chee Cheong Fun, and its taste not bad, at least not stinking as the KL one.

the serving size is quite small which one person could finish it and yet not enough
it's different with KL as served with prawn paste instead of sweet sauce...
and it's plain chee cheong fun without any other ingredients
RM1.80 per plate

Next, I thought we can taste the Hainanese chicken chop at Restaurant Hai Onn, which just somewhere near this Chee Cheong Fun stall. Too bad, the chicken chop only start selling from 12.30pm. So, we took bus and went to Kek Lok Si Temple. Once we reach Air Itam, we go for the famous asam laksa stall, but I didn't get myself a bowl of it as I only eat the noodle but not all those other ingredients.

the most famous laksa stall in Penang
well known with its full bowl of ingredient

after eating so many fried and heaty food, it's great to have a gui ling gao...
lower down the heat in my body

The food that most wanted by me in Penang is the fried kuey teow here...but it was closed today ='( The sky started to rain, not a good weather, I simply filled my stomach with chicken rice selling by one of the shop here. With our umbrella, even it's raining, it's can't stop us from going up to the Kek Lok Si. Probably, if you think on the other side, this might be a good thing as we no need to queue for the cable car ride.

taking while inside the cable car...a bit scary huh?

went up to the hill, we all are so tired and it's still raining, so we sat down and rest in the booth...
all the while we walk in Kek Lok Si, all the while we are holding the umbrella

we are making wishes with all these wishing ribbons sell with RM1 each
you just need to write your name on the ribbon, different ribbon represent different wish
then you will need to hang it onto the *tree*
it's actually a hanger with multiple layers made by wooden stick
If you always watch hong kong drama, you should know that the higher you get
to hang the ribbon, the more possible your wishes come true...
but....I am not enough high to hang my ribbon to the highest, so sad~
my friends all asked me not to be so greedy, as long as you are sincere, you will have the bless...
so I hang it to the second highest place

you can found many God's statutes here
BAI BAI~

just same like other temple, you can see statutes of 12 zodiac here...
and those cute bench ^.^

umbrella pattern banyak banyak...haha~
when we taking the RHS top picture, a foreign couple even request to
have our umbrella pattern and help them camwhore a nice photo

Other are complaining that too tired of walking and wanna to go, but I still haven visit the 万佛塔. Last time I came I also miss the chance of visiting this, so this time I really wanna to go in. Finally, other has been persuade. We went into it by paying entrance fee of RM2. The remarkable memory here is we being cheated to take off shoes to go in the pagoda =.= While we were walking on the dirty floor and doubt on whether the shoes need to be take off, we saw a couple wearing shoes and passby @.@

It's so tired to climb all the way to the top, in total 7 levels!!!
the staircase is so steep and wet, better watch out our steps if you don't wanna get a hurt fall
This pagoda is actually quite old and not well maintained, not so special inside as well
Ohya~ we rang the big bell at the outside of pagoda as well, first try, memorable experience~

On the way to KOMTAR, I fall asleep in the bus, and suddenly being wake up and told that we need to get down from the bus...lol~ I never fall asleep in the bus lo! Change another bus to Guney Drive, having a walk in the Gurney Plaza. Time allowed, we visit a restaurant which using the clinic and hospital concept to decorate the restaurant - Clinic Cafe. Followed by the Toilet Bowl, this is a quite interesting theme restaurant that I have visited.

However, I think this restaurant is a bit too RED! The food selling here not really costly but not tasty. The guy complaining why not *nurse* served them and why there's only one nurse in the cafe...LOL~ All ham sap lou! So, conclusion here, this restaurant can't tahan lama!!! XD

the surrounding of Clinic Cafe
you can found wheel chairs, surgery light, medical equipment, patient bed....

We are taking picture everywhere crazily
ordered some food just as like paying entrance fee to camwhore here
ultimate purpose: CAMWHORE!!!

fried prawn is crispy till you can swallow the prawn outer shell as well
the mushroom soup not thicker enough, I think the campbell canned soup would taste even nicer than it!

Our dinner were spent in the Gurney Drive Hawker Centre with a variety of food. This is an open air hawker centre, but it's raining...arghh!!! Luckily, we get a table with the umbrella. This is certainly a rojak dinner as we are eating many many different food. The rain make the
stall along the Gurney Walk all closed...haiz...can't shop some souvenir!

Gurney Drive Hawker Centre
you can find many nice food, many food stalls and many people too~
even it's raining....the hawker centre are still full of people!
I guess this prove its attraction!!!

this fried oyster is far more better than the one I had on Red Garden
you have to queue for this tasty food
RM6 for small plate

this is superb delicious!!!!
it's soft and mixed with those fragant peanut sand...perfect~
and this is first time I watched people making mua zi...haha XD
RM2 for small box

This Char Kuey Teow probably better than KL but not the one that you can get from Air Itam
even it's not the superb tasty, but it still full with people who queue infront of the stall
RM4 per plate

Fried chicken skin I have no comment because I don't have a chance to try it..
it has been finished while I go buy Mua Zi =.=
Loh Bak I think it's taste ordinary...nothing special~

I wanted eat Apom but this really don't taste good even surround by many customers
Popiah also not tasty, the one selling in morning market nearby my house far more great!
this meatball is self-made by the stall owner...there's another kind of meat wrapped inside....yummy!

We are just having a cincai camwhore at Gurney Walk
the atmosphere is damn quiet after the rain...
and we are having the only group photo in this trip here!
Getting few passers-by to help us take photos...and we met a pair of funny father and son =)

The most unfavour memory in Gurney Drive would be the experience of waiting bus 103 for about 1 hour!!! However, it's already good to have a bus for me to go back hotel. This would be the last night in Penang and tomorrow schedule I still haven't settle yet, sitting there discuss with Chuan Heng also no result...and I am so sleepy! Day 3 end~

The last night staying in hotel only they get chance to play mahjong
they start with all their mini mahjong on floor, books, luggage...
lastly, only they willing to move the TV table to play...more comfortable lo~
